20.......rewind......18 weeks

Seems like our last 2 weeks are going back in time. We went in on Friday for our 20 week ultrasound. Troy and Kamdyn were able to go too which was wonderful. Like I thought, our due date is off....baby Moore is due on March 10th now instead of February 26th. We were 2 weeks off...oops! We also found out that we are having a baby GIRL :) We are super excited. Kamdyn is still adjusting and telling everyone she's having a brother :) She wanted to hold my pictures that they printed out for us but I didn't want them destroyed so then the lady said that she would print out her very own set so Kamdyn was so excited. The ultrasound went very well. Baby Moore is very active and was moving like crazy. Everything measured well and was functioning how it's supposed to. We are very relieved. She was moving so much that she wasn't able to get a good face picture but all the other pictures turned out neat. It's so amazing how something so wonderful is growing inside you. What a great feeling. I am feeling a lot more movement this past week which is fun to finally feel. I can't wait for Troy and Kamdyn to feel her. Before I left for my appointment I had my students vote whether they thought I'd have a boy or girl. More voted for a girl so they'll be excited to hear tomorrow.

We have been busy the past month. Kamdyn had her 2nd birthday. She had a Minnie Mouse party. We had a great turnout and had a fun time. I can't believe my baby is already 2 years old! Oh how she is changing everyday. She is becoming more and more independent which has been helpful doing things on her own.  As we get closer to our due date it will be really helpful. Kamdyn has also gotten into the terrible 2s as well. I thought maybe we'd bypass them but boy was I wrong! Let's just say our Time Out is in full force and gets visited regularly :) She is such a joy and I don't know what we'd did before she was around. She brightens our days and will be a wonderful Big Sister.

The next weekend we painted Kamdyn's new big girl room a light gray color. We got her a full sized bed and a dresser and moved her into her new room. She loves it! She slept in there the very first night and has done great. Then the next weekend I moved closets. We moved Troy's clothes downstairs in the bedroom after I cleaned that closet out. Then moved Kamdyn's clothes to her new room and then cleaned out the baby's closet. Everyone is ready now :) It's a great thing to have done. We are all doing great and enjoying this beautiful fall. We went camping this weekend in Cedar Falls and then to Saylorville next weekend. Then we are done for the season. I hope everyone has a great week!

Exciting News!

Wow, it's been a long time! This year has flown by. I thought I better update our blog with some news. Troy, Kamdyn and I are excited to announce that Baby Moore#2 is due on February 26th! We are so excited! Kamdyn says she wants a baby sister and wants to name it Map (from the Dora cartoon). This summer was pretty rough with morning sickness that lasted all day. I was getting sick from the time I got up until I went to bed. It was not fun especially trying to take care of Kamdyn too. The dr gave me medicine, that I still take, and it's wonderful! I can now function. Today I had a dr appt and I am 15 weeks. The heartbeat was 154 and she found it right away. The last appt was quite a scare as the nurse couldn't find the heartbeat at first. Then the dr did so that was a relief.  I am starting to get a bump and think that I'll have to start wearing maternity clothes soon. I had to break out some pants today so I was comfortable. Our next appt is October 5th and we will get an ultrasound.  This time we are going to find out if we are having a boy or girl. I can hardly wait!

Kamdyn is growing so quickly. She also had a dr appt today for her 2 yr check up.  She is right on track and doing everything she needs to be. Kamdyn is very vocal and social. We are finding out quickly that she likes to copy what we say..........good or bad :) We love this stage because she's getting more and more independent and such a hoot.  She comes up with the funniest things.  Right now she loves Minnie Mouse and Dora.  Sunday is her 2nd birthday party and we are having a Minnie Mouse party. She is so excited. She told grandma that she wanted a Minnie cake for her birthday.......should be easy :)  Kamdyn has started going to a new babysitter this fall. We love her! It was very hard to leave Megan and the girls but we go and visit once and awhile. She is going to go there this week for a day to play.  Megan was very good to us and it was hard to say goodbye because she watched Kamdyn since she was a newborn.  Trish, her new sitter is wonderful too. We are very lucky we've had 2 special people take care of her. Our niece, Madison, also goes there so they have a  lot of fun.  They are always busy.

This year I started in a new position. I now teach 3rd grade at Hoglan Elementary in Marshalltown and I love it! It's been a wonderful change. It helps that I am still in the same district, just changed buildings. The students and staff are so nice and helpful. I love being there. My students are excited that I am having a baby. They have many questions about it. I have a great class. Troy is at Pepsi still and keeping very busy. He enjoys what he's doing so that's great!

Snow and New Found Love :)

Well we finally got snow at our house. I'm not very excited about it but I can't complain because this winter has been spectacular to drive in. Kamdyn FINALLY got to play in the snow! Each night when Troy picks her up, she begs him to put her down. So he does and she takes off to the snow.....with no snowpants or boots of course. Then she proceeds to throw a fit when Troy catches her. So she was in heaven when she finally got to play. And yes she ate some of it too...not any yellow stuff though :) She giggled when it would touch her lips. It was so fun to see her play in it since last yr she was too young to go out and play.
I have to say that I have found a new found love.....so long facebook, I am so over you! Now on to Pinterest :) If you haven't had the experience to log on, you should. It has so many neat ideas for EVERYTHING. I have created so many things from that website. There are many neat recipes and I cranked out and Troy and Kamdyn loved them too so that's a plus. I've made Chicken Cord On Bleu Casserole, Chicken Enchilladas, and a Taco Ring. I have many more to try. Also, this weekend I made a center piece for my cousin's baby shower next weekend and also 2 wedding towel cakes for showers coming up. I have to say they turned out super cute. I can't wait to make more things! This summer is going to be great when I have a lot more time on my hands.
We've had a couple of fun weeks. Last weekend we had one of Troy's cousin's little girl's 1st birthday party. That was fun to get all the kids together minus Kamdyn's fat lip. She thought it would be a good idea to sit on a balloon and it popped and she ended up with a fat lip. Then that night Troy and I had a night out for his Pepsi Christmas Party at Zenos. It's always fun to get together with all those people each year. This weekend has been pretty low key. Kamdyn, Sonya and I went to get shower supplies yesterday. Then last night we got together with the Guthries for supper. It's always fun to get our kids together since 3 of them are less than a month apart:) Now on to another week. I hope everyone has a great WARM week!!

Paul Bunyan and His Deer

I am happy to say that Troy got his deer for this season! YAAHOO! This past weekend him and my brother went hunting in Winterset with a friend of my brother's. That is where Troy got last year's deer too. He was there all weekend and got it right before dark Sunday night. I am stoked for the deer sticks and jerky! He was gone from Friday-late Sunday and Kamdyn was really missing her daddy. She was wide awake at 6:30 Monday morning (day off for MLK day) and I was not happy. She didn't get the memo it was a vacation day. I think she was hoping to catch a glipsy of daddy. He got home after work that day and she was so excited! We took her out to see the deer. Her first response was, "PUPPY!! ruff ruff!" It was so funny. Here are some pictures of her and the deer.

Flower Girl

I know what you are thinking, "wow 2 posts within a couple weeks!" I am hoping to update our blog more often...kind of like a New Years Resolution :) Well we are all back at our regular routines of school, work and daycare. Kamdyn was VERY excited to get back to see the Bergman girls. We walked in and it was instant smile/scream/mom let me down! We are truely blessed to have Megan and her family. It's so nice not having to worry about her during the day because we know she is in great hands and loving every minute. I on the other hand, wasn't ready for break to be over yet. This year has been a very ROUGH year. I am counting down the months until May. My motto at school continues to prove itself true.....If it's going to happen, it's going to happen this year. Each day what gets me through is knowing I have a wonderful family to come home to each and every night.
I forgot to post last time that on Christmas Eve, Kamdyn was asked to be in Troy's cousin, Brandon and Tiffany's wedding. We are super excited and very honored she can be a part of their special day. They asked her in a very cute way. They had a shirt made for her that said, "Flower Girl in Training." We are very excited for May to get here for their big day! I posted a picture of her in her neat shirt.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Wedding and Christmas

Hello everyone! We have had a busy couple months. After a wonderful Thanksgiving, we prepared to Christmas. It was so much fun shopping this year for everyone especially Kamdyn. My mom watched her one Saturday so Troy and I could get away to get some Christmas shopping done. It was great...we could eat meals in peace without entertaining, no diaper changes, and we could be on our own schedule. We had a fabulous day. Kamdyn is very interested in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse right now. She can say all their names and it is so cute as some of them are a little mumbling with some sounds. When we have been out and about we will hear random MINNIE!!!!!!!! MICKEY!!!!! when she sees one of them. She is talking more and more these days. Troy and I are finding ourselves having to really watch what we are saying. She is like a parrot.
The weekend before Christmas I had the honor of being in Wendy's, my roommate from college wedding. Her and I lived together for 3 yrs and never fought once. We got along so well and is like a sister I never had. It was a wonderful day and we had a lot of fun. Wendy was definitely a beautiful bride. Her wedding was in Urbandale and then the reception was at Hotel Pattee in Perry. That hotel is beautiful! Each room is themed and it reminded us of the movie Clue. After the wedding we went downstairs and all bowled because they had a bowling alley down there. I was able to see friends from Central College that I hadn't seen for years. It was like old times! It was a great getaway and we hope to go and stay again. I have included some pictures from the day. Congratulations Wendy and Andy!
Christmas was so much fun this year. Troy and I were reminded how blessed we are to have our little miracle baby and what wonderful families we have. Christmas began the Sunday before Christmas for us on my mom's side. We went to my aunt's house in Ankeny. We had a wonderful lunch and opened presents. You can see that Kamdyn faired very well here with some great gifts. She was more interested in the wrapping paper, ribbon, and helping Adalee and Colton open their gifts.
Christmas Eve we went to Troy's Aunt and Uncle's house, Peg and Barry. His mom's side gathers here or his mom and dad's house each Christmas Eve. We eat an abundance of food and then all go to the Christmas Eve service. His cousin Courtney comes back from D.C. each year and sings at the service. She has such a beautiful voice and I could listen to her all day long! Then we come back and open gifts. There are 4 girls within a yr of each other on this side and boy were they fun to watch. They ran back and forth and back and forth all night. I included some photos from this night where you can see Kamdyn's cute red dress. Also there is a picture of all the grandkids and some family photos we took.
Then we came home and my mom, brother and aunt were here and stayed with us for a couple days. We had the opportunity to stay home all day on Christmas this year which we thoroughly enjoyed. We could relax and enjoy family during this time. We opened presents and Kamdyn received some big gifts such as, a kitchen and basketball hoop. I'm not sure who is more excited about the basketball hoop...her or Troy:) We all were blessed with many great gifts. That evening we made a Christmas meal that included crab legs and steak. My ultimate favorite meal in the world is crab legs so I was in heaven!
On Monday we went to Troy's parents for his family Christmas. Again, we were very blessed with many great gifts and are very spoiled. Kamdyn received some food for her new kitchen and she got a Mickey Mouse Car so she was so excited. She also got many more presents. Her and Maddie (our niece) really enjoyed playing in the little house grandma and grandpa got for their house.
Now that Christmas is over, Kamdyn and I are enjoying break together. Nothing beats snuggling and watching Mickey Mouse each morning. I am going to really struggle going back to school on Monday. I love staying home with her! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year from our family to yours.

Sooooooo behind!

Not a good sign when you can't remember your sign in name and password to your blog. Obviously it's been too long. Wow I havent' written since June! So many things have happened since then. We had such a wonderful summer and of course went way too fast. I really enjoyed being home with Kamdyn all summer. It was very hard to go back in August. It seems like our summers keep getting shorter and shorter. Some highlights of our summer were going camping many times, trip to St. Louis to see the Kemerlings, bachelorette parties, pool time and catching rays.
Then in September, we celebrated Kamdyn's 1st birthday. We did a zebra theme and she had a wonderful time. We are very thankful for our family and friends that made the day so special. This fall we made a trip to the pumpkin patch in Cambridge. That was so much more fun this year because she could do more and loved it! One Sunday, Kamdyn and I went farming with my brother Justin. It was so fun seeing Kamdyn's reactions while riding in the tractor. She had a ball! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, me or her. That was the first time I'd been in a tractor since my father passed away. It was emotional for me. Dad had the best seat in the house watching down on us.
Kamdyn is changing more and more everyday. She is now walking/running all over the place. We have the living room closed off from time to time and furniture in front of the flat screen so she doesn't jab at that. One night she was jabbing at it and Troy told her, "no, no Kamdyn. She turned to him and put her finger out and said, "no, no, no!" It was hilarious! She is talking more and more. We love this age as she's showing her personality more everyday. The redhead is definitely coming out in her personality at times. I love it! Poor Troy :) We had to get a new computer because our last one crashed, so here are some pictures.
